Preparation
100 µL specimen + 400 µL diluent = 500 µL
Measurement
4180.0 ÷ 5 = 836.0 U/L
Correction
836.0 × 5 = 4180.0 U/L
One specimen part with four diluent parts makes a 1:5 dilution; one specimen part with five diluent parts makes six total parts.
A 1:5 preparation has five total parts. Adding five diluent parts to one specimen part makes six total parts and requires factor 6.
