Aim
LatticeMLS aims for accessible basics on every page: semantic structure, full keyboard use, visible focus, readable contrast, alt text on images, labeled controls and reduced motion. This page lists what works, what still needs work, and how to reach us. It makes no formal conformance claim.
Features
- Reading, the full topic list on the Search page and the lesson self-checks work without JavaScript.
- Display in the header sets the theme (Day, Dusk or follow the system), the text size, the density and a legibility font (Atkinson Hyperlegible Next). The settings stay in your browser.
- Motion follows your system's reduced-motion setting.
- A "Skip to content" link is the first thing the Tab key reaches on every page.
- Windows contrast themes are supported: controls keep their borders and outlines, so the system colors show.
- Every diagram is drawn in the page as vector art, so it follows your theme and text size, and photographs sit on a neutral mat without filters.
Keyboard shortcuts
- / opens search from any reading page. It can be turned off under Display.
- Ctrl K or ⌘ K also opens search.
- Escape closes the menu, a pop-up or a dialog and returns focus to where you were.
- Simulators use native controls, so the Tab order follows the screen. At the Dilution station, Enter or leaving a field commits an entry, and Escape leaves the focus view. Each simulator's page has its own keyboard help.
Known limitations
- Labels inside drawings are part of the picture, so a screen reader announces the figure as a whole, by its alt text and caption. The surrounding text describes the same finding. Write to us if a figure is unclear.
- Microscopy photographs are described in their alt text at the level of the finding. The lesson text carries the morphology criteria.
- Search results need JavaScript. Without it, the Search page lists every topic in reading order and your browser's Find command searches it.
