Keep the interpretation inside its evidence

Reactive granulocyte morphology is a correlation between visible features, their distribution, a valid smear, CBC findings, maturation, and context. It can support a morphology comment but cannot diagnose sepsis, assign prognosis, or replace clinical evaluation. A manual proportional differential also has sampling and observer limits.

The method matters. Analyzer model, software, flag interpretation, reagent lot, calibrator, controls, stain acceptance criteria, and smear preparation are laboratory-specific and are set by the local validated procedure. Reference intervals, critical values, delta check limits, and review cutoffs also belong to the validated local procedure.

Teaching images require documented specimen type, stain, magnification, specimen age, identity review, and reuse rights; these are original illustrations, not diagnostic photomicrographs. Report what the method and film support, identify the limitation, and escalate only by the written local pathway.
