Take a call about a critical result, check the evidence and close the report.

What learners practice
- Identify the patient and the specimen before any result goes out.
- Call a critical result with a read-back and document the call.
- Check the tube, the analyzer's run, reagent, calibration, maintenance and QC records.
- Escalate to the supervisor, request reruns and redraws, and tell the floor only what the evidence supports.
- Correct or close the report and keep the record complete.

Assignment text
Work all four shifts in order. Answer the phone, find the patient, give the critical the way our procedure says, and stay on the case until the report, the calls, and the notes are done. Bring each debrief to the discussion.
What the record shows
- The shift, the mode, the shift date and the start and close clock times
- The score and domain table with item notes, and any safety-critical finding with its lesson
- The timeline, the evidence opened and each statement with its support
- Requests, calls with read-backs, reporting choices (first and final) and hints used
The record stays with the learner until they hand it in. A finished record never changes, so printing it again gives the same page.

Accessibility
- Every control can be reached with Tab and used with Enter or Space.
- Every sound has a caption, and the station has its own volume and sound settings.
