Match the assay to the question

Adult eGFR here uses the 2021 CKD-EPI creatinine equation with age, sex, standardized creatinine, and no race term. A creatinine-cystatin C estimate can confirm eGFR when creatinine is unreliable, including unusual muscle mass. eGFR remains an estimate rather than a direct nephron count.

ACR measures albumin and is preferred for CKD risk classification. PCR measures total protein and is not a direct substitute for ACR. Timed collection reports absolute excretion but can be incomplete or inaccurate. Dipstick grade is product- and method-specific; it is not a concentration-normalized ACR or PCR result.

The conventional dipstick protein pad is albumin-predominant and can miss A2 albuminuria, globulins, and light chains. SSA detects albumin and non-albumin protein broadly, so negative dipstick with SSA turbidity needs a local-algorithm review. Use ACR for albumin classification and investigate discordance.

Knowledge check 1

Dipstick protein is negative but SSA is turbid. What is the next interpretation?

Choose one option.

Knowledge check 2

Under the illustrative local microscopy rule, what does blood 2+ with 0–2 RBC/hpf mean?

Choose at least 4 options.
